Baldwinsville’s 2022 building permit chapter
The Village of Baldwinsville requires a building permit for work that must conform to the Uniform Code or the Energy Code, apart from listed exemptions. Its building chapter, chapter 138, was rewritten by Local Law No. 6 of 2022 (village code, chapter 138), so anyone planning remodeling inside the village applies to the village under that text.
The village spans two towns. Outside it, the Town of Lysander issues building permits under its own 2023 chapter, and the Town of Van Buren side follows that town’s rules, which are not summarized here. The village had 3,784 housing units in the American Community Survey 2020-2024 5-year estimates; about 55 percent (margin of error 4 percentage points) were single-family detached houses, and half of all homes date from 1975 or later (median year built, margin of error 4 years).
