Building permits in the Village of Minoa
The Village of Minoa requires a building permit for work that must conform to the Uniform Code, the Energy Code, the village code or chapter 51, which was adopted as Local Law No. 5 of 2022; the chapter lists exemptions (Village of Minoa code). Minoa lies in the Town of Manlius, but inside the village these village rules govern, so home renovation plans there are checked against the village code.
Owner-occupied single-family homes dominate Minoa: of 1,471 housing units, about 86 percent (margin of error 1 percentage points) are single-family detached, owners occupy about 84 percent (margin of error 4 percentage points) of the homes, and half were built in 1971 or later (median year built, margin of error 6 years; American Community Survey 2020-2024 5-year estimates).
